We visit the home of sixth-placed Újpest FC on Sunday evening

The Budapest side, who had started the spring well, have only picked up one point in the last 3 rounds.

On Sunday, 8th May, at 18:45 we will play our last away league game of the season at Újpest FC. The purple-and-whites from the capital have won both of our league games against them so far this season. They won 1-0 in Újpest and 2-1 in the MOL Arena Sósto.

During the winter transfer period, five players arrived and the same number left.

WINTER TRANSFER MOVEMENT AT ÚJPEST
Arrivals: Petrus Boumal (Cameroon, FK Nyizsnyij Novgorod – Russia), Kádár Tamás (Santung Luneng Taishan – China, most recently on loan with Tiencsin Csinmen Tigers – China), Märten Kuusk (Estonia, Flora Tallinn – Estonia)
Loan arrivalsVincent Onovo (Nigeria, Randers – Denmark), Budu Zivzivadze (Gerorgia, Mol Fehérvár)
Promoted from youth and given professional contracts: Eckl Patrik, Ognjen Radosevics, Varga György Balázs
Departures: Stieber András (Haladás), Stieber Zoltán (MTK Budapest)
Loan departures: Máté Zsolt (Tiszakécske), Mucsányi Márk (Szentlőrinc), Junior Tallo (Ivory Coast, Samsunspor – Turkey)

Without a doubt the biggest addition was Vidi's loanee Budu Zivzivadze, as when he joined Újpest, the purple and white were in last place. With our striker in the team, Újpest have been reinvigorated and have been the surprise team of the spring, winning 7 league games this calendar year, with Budu Zivzivadze contributing 10 goals to the success, leading the home scoring charts in the IV. district. Among the new arrivals, Hungarian full-back Tamás Kádár was given few chances and then got injured, while Estonian international Marten Kuusk has also been missing in recent weeks, while Petrus Boumal and Vincent Onovo have been regulars among the new arrivals.

For a long time it seemed that Újpest could even qualify for Europe - which at the beginning of the spring season they were in last place - but in the cup semi-final Paks managed to beat our opponent on Sunday, and in the last 3 rounds of the season the team only collected one point, so there is only a minimal - mathematical - chance to get the fourth place.

Újpest FC has 40 points in the 31 rounds so far (11 wins - 7 draws - 13 defeats) and the goal difference is 46-45.
