Vidi can be league champions again after 5033 days in Debrecen

The golden year of 2011 and the record year of 2012 did not see Vidi win at the home of Debrecen.

The two clubs have met in the first division 64 times. The first of those games took place on the fourth week of the 1979/80 season. The 5th September 1979 fixture at the Sostoi stadium ended in a 1-1 draw. Vidi's goal that day came from current club director Győző Burcsa. That made him the first player to score for the club in a game against Debrecen. It is Debrecen that have the better record in matches over the years. The 64 games have seen 20 wins for Vidi, 30 for Saturday's opponents and the remaining 14 drawn. Overall goal difference reads 98-76 in favour of Loki.

Vidi do not have the best of records in games at Debrecen. It is unbelievable to see that the last Vidi win happened 14 years ago. There is another impressive record in reverse, which saw Debrecen go 19 years from 1981 to 2000 unable to pick up 3 points in Szekesfehervar. That produced 14 matches between the two and 11 wins for Vidi, with the other 3 finishing in draws.  Debrecen have won the last 11 league matches between the two on their home pitch. Every series eventually comes to an end. Saturday could see Videoton can once again become league champions after 5033 days at the home of Debrecen.
