Vidi win the rearranged match at the ZTE Arena with a 2-1 scoreline.
ZTE - Videoton 1-2 (1-1)
Videoton travelled over to Zalaegerzeg in the rearranged league fixture, and returned back to Fehervar with all three points, thanks to goals from Polonkai and Alves. Manager Gyorgy Mezey made a couple of changes to his starting line up, with Balazs Farkas returning in midfield. The team lined up with Alves upfront alone, but the tactic proved a good one as Vidi looked the more dangerous of the two in the first half. The midfield worked very well together, and Liptak and Vasko also looked commanding at the back. Vidi, who were playing in their yellow away shirts, almost went ahead in the first minute following an Alves effort.
Akos Elek won the ball after 28 minutes and played it wide to Polonkai, who made no mistake with his shot, that beat the ZTE keeper, to put Vidi a goal up. However, the home team were back in shortly afterwards. Varga reacted quickest to a corner after 37 minutes, stabbing home the equaliser from close range. Vidi continued to have more of the ball in the first period, but the two sides went in level at the break. One key highlight of the first half was the great save from Bozsovics, when he did very well to tip over a powerful header from close range.
The second half saw Mezey make substitutions with Vasziljevics coming on for Polonkai, and Nikolics also coming on to partner Alves up front, with Elek dropping back to the left back position. Daniel Nagy was also replaced towards the end by Gosztonyi, as Vidi went on the attack for the winner. That duly arrived in the 83rd minute when Nikolics played the ball across the area and Alves reacted quickest to score. The away win keeps Videoton at the top of the league table, having now picked up 17 points from the first 8 games. Hopefully the team can now go on a nice little run to cement their place at the top.
