Vidi will face a stiff challenge against a side who always perform well at home
Gyorgy Mezey takes his Videoton side west to Szombathely on Sunday. The red and blues will come up against 13th in the Monicomp league table, Haladas. It is never an easy venue to get points from for any side. The 23rd round of the Monicomp league will see two sides with recent unbeaten records face each other. Haladas have been in impressive form at home, having won their last seven home games! This run has coincided since they changed their manager and placed Zoltan Aczel in charge. Two further drawn games means that they have now not lost at home for nine matches. Sunday's opponents last lost at the Rohonci stadium on the 28th August, when Paks managed to win.
Football can throw up many interesting statistics: Videoton's last defeat away from home happened on that very same weekend. They lost 3-1 away at Debrecen, but Vidi have gone on from strength to strength ever since. The last side to beat Videoton were Honved, who won 2-0 at the Sostoi stadium during the autumn season. However, Vidi have since gone on to be unbeaten in eleven matches on their home pitch. That is still some way away from the all time record of nineteen unbeaten games, and Vidi will not be able to break that record this season. There are simply not enough games left to play in the Monicomp league season over the 2010/2011 season.
