The spring season kicks off with a home match at the Pancho Arena, Felcsut.
Ninth in the table Vasas are the opponents in the first spring match of the 2017/18 season. The match will kick off at 17:00pm on Saturday at the Pancho Arena in Felcsut.
The Budapest side collected 21 points from their 19 league games over the autumn. They made a good start and found themselves in third place after eleven games. However, things changed and Michael Oenning's side picked up just 2 points from the next 8 games to slip back down the table.
Several players arrived during the winter to strengthen Vasas. David Barczi left Videoton to join Vasas and former Paks player Zsolt Laczko, who had been on loan at Kispest, was another arrival. Tamas Egerszegi returned home from Poland and Norbert Csiki was another to come in. Departures included Vergosz, who returned to Olimpiakos, while Csakvar duo Botond Kiraly and our former player Tamas Kulcsar were also on the move. The Budapest club have played 12 friendly games in Hungary over the course of the winter. There have been several high scoring wins including 8-0 against Vecses, THSE 7-0 and Putnok 7-1. They did concede goals against MTK 1-2, Honved 0-2 and Soroksar 1-2. Other games were against Szekszard, Ivancsa and Monor, while there was also a 0-0 draw with Penzugyor. Vidi have met Vasas once during the current 2017-18 season. That was at the Ferenc Szusza stadium with Mate Patkai scoring a lovely goal with an overhead kick, but the opponents eventually won 3-1.
Current top goalscorers with 4 goals each are Balint Gaal and Mohamed Remili. They are followed by defender Burmeiseter and Kulcsar, who have scored three each. Burmeister and keeper Lubos Kamenar have made the most appearances this season with 19 to their name. Remili has played one less while Szivacski has appeared in 17. Vasas have used a total of 22 players during the first half of the season.
Vasas include former Videoton players David Barczi and Tamas Vasko in their squad. The latter was a member of the first title winning side in season 2010-11.
