Videoton score four away from home

Videoton got back to winning ways in style as they hit Kaposvar for four at the Rakoczi stadium on Saturday. Gyorgy Mezey's side were eager to recover from last weeks 0-2 home defeat to Honved. That loss ended a run of six straight wins, and now a new run may be just around the corner. The game itself was all but over after just 22 minutes, by which time, Vidi had found the back of the Kaposvar net three times. Alves scored from the penalty spot after two minutes, with Vasziljevics extending the lead after 12 minutes. Alves was again on hand to make it three after 22 minutes, as Videoton's first half performance threatened to score even more. The last time that the red and blues had managed to score three times in the first period was against Haladas last season.

Denes Szakaly replaced Vasziljevics at the break, while Nikolics came on for two gaol hero Alves on the hour mark. Vidi made it 40 with an Akos Elek effort on 67 minutes, and there was still time for Martin Mutumba to come on after 72 minutes, when he replaced midfielder Gyorgy Sandor. Lorant Olah scored a consolation for the home side late on, with the final event of the match coming in the last minute, when Zsok was shown the red card for Kaposvar. 

The win gave Mezey's side a three goal lead over second place Zalaegerszeg, who beat Ferencvaros. More importantly is the 7 point gap between first and third place, which gives Videoton a nice cushion to build on. There now follows a busy week with a cup game against Haladas on Tuesday, while a tough visit to Győri ETO follows next weekend.
