Videoton FC stroll to a friendly win on Saturday

Two goals in each half gave Videoton a 4-0 win over Dunaujvaros at the Sostoi stadium.

A good turnout of supporters, which numbered almost 800, came out on Saturday to the Sostoi stadium. The friendly match with Dunaujvaros was another chance for the Vidi faithful to see their side in action before the league season begins next weekend. Gyorgy Sandor and Sandor Torghelle received a nice round of applause from the home fans before the game.

Vidi went ahead after 37 minutes, when Zsoter hit a lovely shot into the far corner of the net from 15 meters out. The score was doubled on 44 minutes, with substitute Sandor Torghelle on hand to roll the ball home, after Gyurcso's powerful shot came back off the post.

Manager José Gomes sent out a different side for the second half. Spanish keeper Juan Calatayud looked impressive in the home goal, dealing comfortably with everything that came his way. He made his best save after 52 minutes, when Godslove headed at goal, but the keeper kept the ball out from point blank range. Both Alvarez and Nikolics had attempts on goal as Vidi tried to extend the score. Alvarez did well on 76 minutes, showing good movement before trying to lob keeper Milinte, but the ball went the wrong side of the post. Birtalan also had a chance on 84 minutes, but Calatalud kept his shot out with his feet.

Alvarez curled a ball in a couple of minutes later, which was met well by Nikolics, who rose to head the ball home from close range. There was little that keeper Milinte could do except pick the ball out of the back of the net. Kovacs showed good skills inside the box in injury time, which eventually resulted in him being brought down. The young midfielder kept his composure to place the ball in to the back of the net from the penalty spot. The match official blew for full time with Vidi picking up a 4-0 home friendly win.
