Videoton beat DVTK 4-1 in comfortable win

Two goals from Lazovic, Scepovic and Nego secured Vidi the 3 points on Saturday evening.

Vidi took on sixth in the table DVTK at the Pancho Arena in match 22 of the OTP league. Videoton's game was the final one of the weekend, having earlier seen Ferencvaros win 5-0 to stay ahead in the table.

There were 3 big players missing from the DVTK side: Zoltan Liptak and Gergo Kocsis both collected 5 yellow cards to sit out the game. Brkovics was sent off in the game before to earn a suspension. Szabolcs Huszti was out through ilness, while Jozsef Varga picked up a slight injury. The game started with a Stopira cross ending in the hands of keeper Botond early on. Bacsa headed over at the other end. Four minutes later, Danko took a free kick that Stopira tried to convert, without luck. Moments later, Stopira linked up with Danko that eventually saw a powerful shot go wide. Vidi took the lead after 21 minutes: Stefan Scepovic crossed into the middle, with the ball going behind Marko Scepovic, but Lazovic remained unmarked in the middle to beat Antal Botond (1-0).

A Karan shot a couple of minutes later flew wide of the Vidi goal. The scoreboard read 2-0 after 26 minutes: Loic Nego got hold of the ball, before finding Lazovic with a lovely pass, who wanted to play it on towards Marko Scepovic, but the ball rebounded off a defender, for Lazovic to find the back of the net from 12 meters to make it 2-0.

A Lazovic corner on 35 minutes curled wide of the goal with it only needing to make connection with. There were several corners in the minutes that followed, with each looking dangerous, but none changing the scoreline. There was still time towards the end of the first half for both Ugrai and Scepovic to have shots at goal.

The second half started with Patkai playing in Lazovic, but the ball found Antal in the DVTK goal. Bacsa sent a scissor kick wide of the left post minutes later following a cross. Lazovic gained possession inside the opponents half on 58 minutes, before doing well to find Marko Scepovic on the right, who crossed into the middle for his brother to make no mistake and roll the ball home from close range (3-0).

The action continued with an effort from visiting player Ionnidis, which Kovacsik comfortably dealt with. Marko Scepovic saw his shot go wide minutes later. The match official then awarded Diosgyőr a penalty after Attila Fiola was judged to have fouled on 75 minutes. However, keeper Kovacsik guessed well to save his fourth penalty of the season.

He could do nothing two minutes later when a DVTK counter attack ended with Ovari scoring to make it 3-1. The visitors tried hard to get back into the game, but it was Vidi who rounded off the evening with the fourth goal: Istvan Kovacs released Nikolov, who looked up and played in Nego on the right, who passed the ball into the back of the net (4-1).

It was a comfortable win to keep the pressure on Ferencvaros. Vidi are next at home to Balmazujvaros at Felcsut next weekend.
