The fifth Super Cup final for Videoton

Vidi won their last two finals against Debrecen and KTE respectively.

Videoton FC have appeared in four Super Cup finals over the history of the competition. Three of those four have been against Debrecen, which means that Sunday's game will be final number five! The Super cup has been running since 1992, which sees the league winners come up against the Hungarian cup winners. Ferencvaros and Debrecen have won the cup four times each to head the list of team winners.

2006 - Debrecen

Vidi won the Hungarian cup in 2006 for the first time in their history. They faced Debrecen in the final, which was then a two-legged affair. Igor Bogdanovics scored for the opponents after 4 minutes to secure a 1-0 first leg win. The second leg was also won 2-1 to make it 3-1 on aggregate.

2010 - Debrecen

Vidi came up against the reds of Debrecen in 2010. Videoton ended second in the league, while Debrecen made it a league and cup double. It was Loki who won 1-0 thanks to a Szakaly goal. That was the second final without success!

2011 - VIDEOTON FC

Videoton finally won the domestic league title for the first time. They met Kecskemet in the Super Cup final on the 8th July 2011. A 1-0 win and a goal from Andre Alves brought the cup to Szekesfehervar.

2012 - VIDEOTON FC

Similar to 2010, Debrecen made it a league and cup double, while Vidi finished second in the OTP Bank league. The final in Fehervar ended in a 1-1 draw after normal time. The resulting penalty shootout saw Vidi emerge 5-3 winners. Kovacs scored the goal for Vidi while penalties were converted by Nikolics, Gyurcso, Mitrovics, Brachi and Caneira.

2015 - ?

July 5th is the date of this years Super Cup final, which will be played at the Sostoi stadium. Vidi will play in the final for the 5th time against Ferencvaros.
