The spring season kicks off on Saturday with a home league game against Honved.
Vidi and Honved meet for the 105th time on Saturday in the league. The match, which kicks off at 17:00pm, also sees the second half of the league season begin. The 104 matches between the two clubs have resulted in Honved winning 46 with 18 drawn. Vidi have won 40 over the years with an overall goal difference going in the favour of the team from the capital.
There have been 51 home games over the years, which have produced 26 wins for the red and blues. A total of 9 have ended with the sides sharing a point while Honved have come away with 3 points 16 times. We last suffered a defeat to Honved on the 27th October 2013.
Our opponents on Saturday started the season with four defeats in the league. However, they went on a good run of 5 wins during October and November. Those included wins over ZTE (1-0), and against Puskas Academy (2-1). They also defeated Kaposvar (2-0), DVTK (1-0) and Paks (2-1) at their temporary home ground of the New Hidegkuti Stadium. It is interesting to note that all of those five wins included a goal in each match from Davide Lanzafame.
We kicked off the 2019-20 season with six wins and no other side has managed such a run of wins this season including league leaders Ferencvaros. In fact it is Honved with their five consecutive wins that sit behind Vidi in this category.
We have not had any sending off's this season so far. Honved did have Bence Batik dismissed in match 2 of the season after 87 minutes in their 3-1 defeat at Paks. It is Vidi that have collected more yellows with a total of 48 against Honved's 37. Both teams currently have a top goalscorer with 7 goals. The team from Budapest have Davide Lanzafame leading with 7 to his name, which is the same as both Futacs and Hodzic from Vidi.
Bp. Honved have so far used 26 players this season while we have had 22 feature in NB I matches.
