The spring season kicks off at the weekend with a big game against Honved.
Budapest Honved go into the spring season in 6th place. The red and blacks have been on a roller-coaster ride over the 2019-20 season. They started with their first six games putting them in eleventh position. They then went on an unbeaten run of seven games, which saw them win six games. However, the final three games of autumn produced two points. That saw then slip back one place. It is true that they are four points ahead of seventh placed Kisvarda. Top goalscorer with seven goals is Davide Lanzafame, who is spending his third period with the club. He is on loan with Honved and leads the Canada Table with 7+1, which is one ahead of Amadou Moutari who is on 3+3.
36 year old Djordje Kamber played the most minutes over autumn with 1440 to his name. Batic Bence missed one game to be on 1306. The squad’s other veteran is Ivan Lovric, who at 35 years old played 1189 minutes so far this season. There wasn’t too much movement over the winter. Patrik Hidi returned to the club while George Mayron arrived from Midtjylland. He linked up with the Kispest club following their training camp. Moving out in the other direction is Anis Ben-Hatira and Krisztian Vadocz, who moved to Penarol. Vladyslav Kulach returned to Ukraine over the autumn due to injury.
Keeper Rubi Levkovic and right back Mohamed Mezghrani are undergoing regeneration work after lengthy injuries. All the other players are fit going into today’s game. The pre-season in Turkey saw then lose 1-0 to Gaziantep. They beat Partizan Tirana 2-0 before losing 5-0 against Hajduk Split.
