Taking a closer look at Sunday's opponents Ujpest

Ujpest visit the Pancho Arena on Sunday evening in the third game of the new season.

Videoton FC are preparing for the third league game of the OTP Bank league 2017-18 season. They opened up with a 1-1 draw against Balmazujvaros. Last weekend Vidi came away with all three points in the 3-1 win over Puskas Academy FC. Sunday's match will kick off at 18:00pm.

Our opponents Ujpest FC were first promoted to the first division in 1904, and with the exception of 1911-12 when they were in the second division, our opponents have been regular members of the top division. They have won the league title 20 times and have lifted the Hungarian cup on 9 occasions. They have failed to finish above 6th place since 2010, but have been strengthened over the summer with new players after their transfer ban was lifted for 2017-18.

Robert Litauszki returned to the club together with former international player Krisztian Simon. Other arrivals include Daniel Nagy, Branko Pauljevicset, Obinna Nwobodót, Alassane Diallót, Mijusko Bojovicsot and Soma Novothny. Former Vidi player Donat Zsoter has also moved during the summer to Ujpest, together with Patrik Tischler and keeper Filip Pajovics. Another ex-player with Vidi connections is David Mohl.

Ujpest, like Vidi have already played two games this season. They visited Paks in the season opener and drew 2-2. That was followed up by the same result against Ferencvaros in the derby match. They were leading right up to the 90th minute before ending up with a draw. Four different players have scored their four goals so far with Branko Pauljevic, Jozsef Windecker, Soma Novothny and Daniel Nagy all finding the back of the net. They face Vidi in seventh place and two points behind.
