Marko Nikolic: The players battled until the final second

The two managers spoke to the media shortly after Sunday's game at the Pancho Arena.

Marko Nikolic:

"The supporters saw a very interesting game at the Pancho Arena. I would like to congratulate my players for their attitude and the way they battled until the last minute. They did everything that can be done in such a situation. This situation is not an easy one - and as most could see, I only made two changes today as the other players on the bench were defenders. Those that were given the chance fought for each ball and we deserved the draw. We conceded a silly goal at the start of the game. I do not understand why our left back went over to the right side for a throw in. We then had chances against a well organised defence, but we needed to score earlier. We also need to score more goals from the amount of chances we had. We could not use too many players, but those that played have been playing every three days, and there has been plenty of travelling as well. However, I would like to say once again that those that played today gave everything. Danko Lazovic and Roland Juhasz cannot be considered as young players, and it is also hard for them to be playing every couple of days in the summer. That is why I took Danko off as I wanted to change things. I did not want him to get his second yellow card, and he could also have a rest with 70 minutes action. The squad have been given Monday off to rest, which is the first time since I have been here. We then have the second leg against Bordeaux and next weekends away league game at Mezokovesd. I hope that today's game will give us great inspiration for everyone in the squad. Perhaps we will have both Mate Patkai and Jozsef Varga back for Thursday but it is not 100%. We will have Istvan Kovacs link up with the team in 5-6 days. Krisztian Geresi will train on Tuesday and Attila Fiola is training with the others. Things are improving on that front. Ezekiel Henty today started the game and we did not plan for him to play 90 minutes. I think that he managed to show some quality things."

Nebojsa Vignjevics:

"It was a hard game as for me Videoton FC are the best team in the league. We played well for 86 minutes and then the wheels fell off in three minutes. Everything we built came unstuck then. I always talk to my players about concentrating. If we lose our focus for even a second in a game, we could end up losing the match. This happened most recently against Ferencvaros. We conceded two goals from set-pieces. I would like to congratulate my players for the good performance even if we did not manage to win."
