SK Slavia Praha are our opponents on Saturday evening

The Czech team closed the previous season with a championship title.

On Saturday at 17.45pm we will play SK Slavia Praha in Frauenkirchen. This will be our sixth preparation match and the game will be held behind closed gates.

History:

The club was founded in 1892 on the initiative of Czech students. SK Slavia Praha are one of the best known and most successful clubs in Czech football. The Czech national team, which won the 1911 amateur European Championships after defeating the English national team 2-1 in the final, featured nine Slavia players. The club was given the rare honour of being elected an honorary member of the English Football Association. Slavia Praha has won its domestic league championship 20 times.

Speaking of current successes on the European stage, the club advanced to the semi-finals of the 1995-1996 UEFA Cup, and also reached the 2007-2008 Champions League group stage. They made it through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League in the 2018-2019 season. SK Slavia Praha achieved the greatest success in the modern history of the Czech league. The team won the 2016-2017 title and then the 2018-2019 championships before following that up in 2019-2020 season.

The manager:

SK Slavia Praha's head coach is 44-year-old Czech national Jindrich Trpisovsky, who has only ever managed exclusively for Czech clubs. He was appointed head coach of Slavia on the 1st January 2018. In just over two and a half years of his reign, he led the club to a two-time league title as well as being two-time cup winners.

The team:

Slavia is predominantly made up of Czech footballers. The team had 22 wins, 6 draws and only 2 defeats in 30 matches in the first division in the previous season. The top goalscorer in Prague in the 2019-2020 competition was Croatian Petar Musa. The striker had 10 goals and 2 assists.

The match on Saturday will be played behind closed doors. We therefore ask supporters not to make the journey.
