Two goals from Nikolic and one from Petryak and Zivzivadze helped Vidi to all three points.
Vidi played their final league game of the 2020-2021 season against already relegated DVTK. The match was played in Miskolc with Vidi going into the game with the faint hope of securing second place. Manager Imre Szabics chose the following starting line-up: Kovács D. - Funsho, Fiola, Musliu, Stopira - Dárdai, Nego, Houri, Petryak - Szabó, Nikolic for Sunday evening's game.
The game began at a fast pace with a shot from Petryak after 5 minutes being saved by Malencia. Nikolic was just offside from a Petryak pass and his effort was ruled out. Chances were few and far between as the minutes ticked by. Then Szabo was fouled by Soldo inside the home box on 22 minutes and referee Peter Solymosi pointed at the spot. Nikolic saw his penalty saved by keeper Malencia, who guessed the right way.
The pace increased and a Petryak corner after 27 minutes was flicked on by Funsho, but there was no Vidi player behind him to connect with the ball. Funsh then sent a ball in from the right a minute later but Szabo could not get on the end of it. Another minute passed and a cross from Dardai was headed wide by Nikolic from close range. However, the assistant referee raised his flag. DVTK had their moments with a corner from Molnar being headed over by Szucs from 6 meters. Houri's sharp corner was collected by Malencia before Petryak again found the net but once more it was ruled offside. Musliu fouled Suljic just outside the box after 33 minutes and the resulting free kick was well saved by Kovacs from Molnar's effort. Petryak sent a low shot from the left at Malencia after 35 minutes as the action continued. It seemed as if the two sides would go in at the break with the score at 0-0. That wasn't the case as Dardai sent a cross in from the left, which was met really well by the diviing head of Petryak, whose header nestled in the back of the net with a minute remaining of the first half 0-1.
The home side started brightly in the second period. It needed Fiola to clear the danger ahead of Suljic and a smart save from Kovacs following a close range effort from Drazic. At the other end, Szabo connected with a Petryak cross and there was also a header from Stopira following a Houri corner but the second goal followed: Szabo played a neat one-two with Petryak on 55 minutes, whose low cross into the middle was tapped home by Nikolic to make it 0-2.
Stopira hit a left foot strike from a tight angle on 64 minutes as the pressure continued. Grgic also saw his low shot saved by Kovacs at the other end. Stopira played in Petryak with a smart header after 70 minutes and he lifted the ball over the keeper, but the ball went wide of the target. Once again the Miskolc side tried hard to get back into the match. First Grosav missed a big chance and then Drazic was almost awarded a penalty but Solymosi kept his whistle in his pocket. Vidi extended their lead after 79 minutes: Petryak played a lovely through ball into the path of Zivzivadze, who kept his composure to slot the ball beyond the keeper to make the score 0-3.
DVTK player Markvart had a shot saved by Kovacs while Makrai sent his effort wide of the visiting goal. It became 4-0 with a minute remaining: Stopira providing Zivzivadze with a strike on goal, and his shot was met by the boot of Nikolic on its way into the net to make it 0-4.
Our team picked up a comfortable win in the final game of the season. It became clear during the game that Puskas were comfortably defeating Budafok 5-0, which means that Vidi close the season in third spot.
