3-1 defeat to SK Slavia in our final pre-season friendly

Zivzivadze gave Vidi a 9th minute lead from the penalty spot. Stanciu, Musa and Masopust replied for Slavia Praha.

Manager Gabor Marton fielded the following eleven for the final friendly game of pre-season: Kovácsik - Fiola, Rus, Stopira, Hangya - Pátkai, Houri - Nego, Evandro, Petryak – Zivzivadze.

The first serious chance of the game arrived on 7 minutes when Fiola and Evandro combined and the Brazilian forward was eventually brought down inside the penalty area. The referee awarded a penalty and Zivzivadze stood behind the ball. He confidently placed the ball into the back of the net (0-1). Four minutes later and Houri hit a long ball forward from a free kick into the box, which Kolar punched away ahead of Stopira.

Stanciu took a 14th minute free kick from 24 meters but it did not cause problems for Kovacsik in the Vidi goal. Kovacsik collided with Stopira on 31 minutes, while the ball fell to Masopus. Stopira remained on the floor and required treatment, but he was able to continue with the injury not being serious. Houri received a precise ball from Hangya moments later and a 30 meter sprint ended with a shot from 25 meters, which just went over the bar. Zivzivadze showed good skill after 40 minutes before shooting at goal, but his low shot was collected by the Czech keeper.

The second half started with the opponents having a big chance, but it needed a sliding tackle from Nego to clear ahead of Holes as the ball went out for a corner. The resulting corner was taken by Sevcik, which was met by a great volley from distance by Stanciu. The ball nestled in the back of the net with Kovacsik given no chance (1-1).

It was the Czech side that were celebrating again after 58 minutes. Musa gained possession and went down the right, before putting the ball into the back of the net from 13 meters (2-1). Five minutes later and it became 3-1 when Kolar sent a high ball towards Coufal, before the ball eventually found its way to Masopust, who hit a volley from 24 meters into the bottom left corner.

Laco Takacs headed over the bar from close range after 75 minutes. The action continued as Petryak took the ball beyond the Czech defender after 83 minutes, and he put in a dangerous cross, but the promising attack did not produce a goal. Malinsky tricked his marker inside the box with 3 minutes left, but his shot went over the bar. The game ended with SK Slavia Praha winning 3-1 in what was the final friendly for Vidi. The new league season kicks off next week away at ZTE.
