Season opener at the Sostoi on Wednesday

Videoton entertain Kaposvar in the league cup on Wednesday 26th February.

The long winter break will come to an end of Wednesday with Vidi participating in the last 16 of the league cup. A home match at the Sostoi stadium against fellow first division side Kaposvar will be the first competitive game of 2014. There will be free entry for supporters with just the main stand open for use.

Kaposvar have made serious changes over the winter break. Manager Laszlo Prukner departed the club with Tibor Selymes taking his place. He enjoyed a playing career with periods at Dinamo Bucharest and Anderlecht. He also played for both Haladas and Debrecen in his time. Selymes then took charge of Sopron when they were a first division side, and has since managed several Romanian clubs. He moved to Kaposvar over the winter and will make his debut for them in Wednesday's game.

Two keepers also arrived with Jahic joining from ZTE and Antal Botond from Kecskemet. Francia Badis (central defender) is another arrival and Romanian player Andrei Florean (forward) has also made the move to Kaposvar. They have been further strengthened by the signings of Dragos Firtulescu (midfielder) and Belgium Landry Mulemo (left back), as well as loan signing Armand Ken Ella (midfielder) from Ukraine. The final hours of the transfer window saw a very big signing in the form of Estonian player Tarmo Kink, who played for Győr during the autumn season.

Kaposvar spent almost two weeks away at their training camp in Turkey playing against strong opponents in their preparation for the spring season.
