Sztanics was sent off in last weekend's game, while Balog has recovered and could play
Ferencvaros finished in 7th place last season in the Soproni league. Their performance over the spring season was an improvement on their 11th place finish at the half way stage. However, the fans had expected a far better position, and their final position did not please too many. There were many changes over the summer for the Budapest club, including the resignations of both Managing DIrector Krisztian Berki, who was replaced by Zoltan Berkes, who has a good reputaiton, however, he too quickly left the club. The news on Wednesday was that the chairman, Gyorgy Rieb was also leaving the green and whites for pastures new.
Bobby Davison began last season in the hot seat, but he was replaced at the half way stage by another Brit, Craig Short. He too left in the summer to take charge of English league one side Notts County. Laszlo Prukner was brought in to shake things up and bring stability to the club. Prukner has no connections with Ferencvaros other than the fact that his previous club Kaposvar, also play in green and white. His new side began this season well, winning their opening two games to go top of the league. However, they were brought back down to earth last weekend when Honved won 3-1 at the Albert stadium. That defeat and Videoton's win at MTK, meant that Vidi leaped frog the Budapest club in the league table.
Laszlo Prukner is sure to make changes, after Sztanics was sent off against Honved. Defender Zoltan Balog is expected to recover and come back into contention. "Fradi" have strengthened their squad this week with the purchase of 22 year old Emil Milijkovics. The Dutch/Bosnian striker is sure to add options up front for the green and whites.
