Two corners in the second half helped Vidi turn the game around after falling behind to a good goal.
Vidi were in Hungarian cup action on Tuesday afternoon with a place in the last 16 at stake. They travelled to second division side Szigetszentmiklos. The tie was played over one match, with the Pest county side playing their home games on the artificial pitch at their stadium.
It could be seen during the first minutes that the pitch would cause problems over the course of the match for the visiting side. The home team took advantage of their familiarity of the pitch, and took the lead after 10 minutes. Hevesi-Toth scored a really good goal as he found the top corner from 16 meters to make it 1-0. SzTK-Erima continued to be active following that goal and Bonifert beat Calatayud to the ball on 14 minutes, and his header just failed to find the target from close.
The 23rd minute saw Kollega send in a powerful cross from the wing, which brought danger in front of the visiting goal, but fortunately the forward in the green shirt did not make good contact with the ball. Fejes chose to shoot rather than cross from the left after 35 minutes, with the ball hitting the post. Alvarez crossed from the left after 42 minutes with the ball falling to Fejes, who could have hit the ball at goal from close, had he reached it. The home side went in at the break with a 1-0 lead.
The second half started well with Feczesin finding the net following a corner from Alvarez on 47 minutes. The forward showed good movement to flick the ball home to make it level (1-1). The home keeper was able to palm a ball away from the right wing on 60 minutes, which meant that it fell badly for the arriving Alvarez, who was unmarked at the far post. The Salvador player was again involved in the action a minute later. The forward shot at keeper Santa from a tight angle, which produced a good save from the keeper.
The 74th minute resulted in one of the most dangerous home players finding himself with a chance. Kollega shot hard from close, which produced a very good save from Calatayud in the visiting goal. Vidi then went in to the lead for the first time in the game four minutes later through a Fejes header. Alvarez curled a good corner in to the box and Fejes headed powerfully past the home keeper (1-2). There were no real chances in front of either goal in the remaining 10 minutes of the match.
Vidi deservedly fought their way in to the next round in a real cup match at the home of a Szigetszentmiklos side that put up a good performance.
