Vidi came from a goal down to get three points at the Pancho Arena on Sunday evening.
The two sides met for the 8th time on Sunday evening in the first division. Those have produced 5 wins against Puskas Academy and two drawn games. Paulo Vinicius suffered an injury in the midweek Thursday Europa League game, which forced him out of this match. He was replaced by Andras Fejes in the heart of defence. Mate Patkai played in his 250th NBI league match. Both teams started the league season with 1-1 draws against Balmazujvaros and Ferencvaros respectively.
The game did not start too well for Vidi as they fell behind after just 2 minutes. A cross from Spandler ended with Diallo heading home from 8 meters out (1-0). The referee allowed challenges to go in during the first half, which included a foul by Diallo on Juhasz who required treatment. Suljic suffered a clash to his face from Mevoungou. Neither foul was met with a yellow card from Adam Farkas.
Vidi managed to get back in the game with an equaliser after 14 minutes. Lazovic sent a ball in from the right, which bounced infront of Diallo and the ball ended in front of Fejes, who made no mistake as he rolled the ball into the corner (1-1). The 28th minute saw a move from Videoton that started with Patkai releasing Scepovic on the right, and the forward was very unselfish to find his strike partner, Lazovic with an open goal to score from close range (1-2). Scepovic then ran at goal a couple of minutes later and sent a good shot from 17 meters, which Puskas keeper Danilovics did well to save. Scepovic again brought a good save out of the home keeper after 38 minutes. The referee blew the half time whistle and Vidi went in at the break with a 2-1 lead.
The second half started with no chances in front of either goal. The first serious chance arrived after 59 minutes when Vanczak brought down Scepovic inside the box. Referee had no hesitation in pointing at the spot. Scepovic picked himself up to shoot beyond Danilovics and make it (1-3). Kovacsik saved well on 65 minutes to deny a Knezevic free kick that ended with a shot from Diallo.
Scepovic was fouled on 81 minutes and Lazovic curled the resulting free kick, which brought a very good save from the keeper. Lazovic was replaced by Bence Szabo towards the end, with the youngster making his NBI debut. Geresi came on with 4 minutes left of the game and found himself with a chance on goal, but his shot from 15 meters was nicely saved by Danilovics. Nego also had a good chance moments later, which was saved by the Felcsut keeper. There was no further change to the scoreline and Vidi move up to second place thanks to the win.
