The two managers gave their thoughts on Friday's league match to the gathered media.
José Gomes: "The team showed their best face based on the chances that we had. Our opponents continuously defended with nine men, defending with discipline and closing down the space well. I respect the tactics that our opponents used, and my job is to find a way to combat this playing style. My players continued to believe that they could keep the 3 points at home, and played football accordingly. There were mistakes, which is natural, but we managed to come up with a solution against such a team, which dealt only with defending. We fought throughout for the 3 points. If our opponents would have played differently, then perhaps we could have shown a better face, but based on the chances created, we showed our best face. We do not want to be champions, but rather we will be champions. It is not about the fact that we do not respect our opponents, but that I really believe in my team. I would like to say once again that we do not want to be champions, but rather we will be champions!"
Véber György: "Congratulations to Vidi, as they validated their advantage that they had throughout, and that they had battled for during the entire game. We knew what to expect, and prepared for this all week. The team played football heroically and with tactical discipline. This was enough for the score to be 0-0 after 85 minutes. I was concerned that we could not hit them with quick counter attacks, which meant that we could not really be dangerous on the home goal. Vidi deserved their win based on the whole ninety minutes."
