The two managers shared their thoughts after the final league game of autumn.
Henning Berg:
"We came here to win and we should have but this did not happen for 3 reasons. We scored a second goal but the match official disallowed it. Danko Lazovics even asked the referee if he could take the free kick, and the reply was yes. Danko passed the ball wide to the feet of Feczesin, who hit the ball into the back of the net. It was a goal for me and we could have won 2-1. Why did the referee blow his whistle? I do not know. We should have scored other goals, especially in the first half, when we created several big chances. We made good attacking moves during this period. Our team defending was not at the level it should be in the second half. Haladas had more of the ball than was the case in the first half. They found their way to our goal more and managed to level the scores with a free kick. So these are the three reasons that we did not win and in this order. The home side did have chances at the end of the game, which I have to admit and they hit good counter attacks. We took risks at this point as we did not want to defend the 1-1 but tried to win the game. I do not think that there would have been a difference in the game had we made substitutions earlier or any differently. I felt that the players out there on the pitch should have scored the winner. We still had the possibility to make further changes but I was hoping that those on the pitch would score. Marko Scepovics, Danko Lazovics and Robert Feczesin have scored many goals. Anel Hadzic is capable of also scoring. We scored the second goal until the referee thought otherwise. I am pleased that we will go into the winter break in first place. It is also important that we should be top after the final match of the season. Hard work awaits the squad after the break and I feel that we are on the right road."
Mészöly Géza:
"22 year old Zsolt Angyal was the oldest player on the bench, which is very rare. I am pleased that our young players were a match for Vidi's international players. We surprised them in the second half and we could have ended up winning. Our opponents also had their own chances so we cannot have too many complaints about the final result. I would like to congratulate Videoton for finishing the autumn season in top place. We can be proud of our second half performance."
