The two managers shared their thoughts on Wednesday evening's OTP league match.
Henning Berg:
"The most important thing for us was to win the game, which we managed to do. Football is interesting as we showed plenty of good things in attack against Vasas, but we did not win the game. Our game was fine tonight, but we were not as good as we were against Vasas, but we ended up getting the 3 points. Gyirmot defended well and started with a 5-3-2 formation, which is difficult to break down. We still directed things well in the first half despite that. We had chances and also won a penalty, which we managed to score from. The second half was more balanced and Gyirmot had to come forward and we could see that they are a good passing side. Our defending was good and the whole team played with full concentration until the final minute. I also felt that we directed things in the second period. We could have had some more chances to score, but I am still satisfied with the 3 points we picked up. Although we made changes to our starting line-up, we still played the way we usually do. Gyirmot play a similar system as DVTK, Vasas and Honved employ. It is not the first time that we were up against a side with this system. Today's opponents used the ball differently when they have it. We had to prepare for this and they did not have too many chances. We managed to solve things generally. I am happy that the referee awarded the penalty, which was the correct decision. We have not always had luck in this area over the course of the season. We have not been given around 10 penalties, but today we got it and scored. I also have to say that Gyirmot are a better side than they were before the winter break. I am sure that if they would have played like this in the first half of the season, they would not be in bottom place now."
The manager also spoke about Krisztian Geresi and the injury to Istvan Kovacs.
"Krisztian Geresi has worked really hard, but he can still play better than he did. Perhaps it is down to him not playing as much in recent games. I have no complaints with his attitude and we know that he is a quality player who will develop a lot in the future. It was important for him to play the full game today. Istvan Kovacs was very unfortunate in today's game. He is in a difficult situation as the team have been playing well, which is why he could not get into the team. Today he played in the game and performed well until the injury. The whole team is with him now in this situation. We all wish him a quick recovery."
Tamás Györök:
"The title contenders Vidi visited us today. We got what we were counting on. We managed to take the danger out of their attacks in the first half, which has summed up their matches generally. We then had to come out more in the second half, and pushed more players forward. This also meant that we opened up a little. This provided chances for both sides. Csanad Novak had a good chance to score. We had problems dealing with Suljic after he came on. I would like to congratulate Videoton on the win and wish them the best of luck. I feel that one of the best teams beat us today."
