Friendly match decided in the first half

Videoton slipped to a 4-0 friendly defeat against a strong Dnyipro side in Spain.

Videoton played their third pre-season friendly in Spain against a very good Ukrainian side, FK Dnyipro. They have already made it through to the last 32 of the Europa League, with an exciting two-legged match with Tottenham Hotspurs next up for them. Their playing squad has a total worth of 90 million euros.

It was a nightmare start for Vidi as they went 2-0 down inside the second minute of the match. Seleznov opened the scoring from a cross by Konoplyanka. Then 17 million euro winger Konoplyanka scored a really good goal to double the lead for the strong Ukrainian side. Dnyipro continued to dominate proceedings having more of the possession. Vidi keeper Pajovics had to make several good saves as the friendly continued. However, he was powerless in the 35th minute when the third goal went in to the back of the net, with Giuliano showing good skill to go through the defence and calmly slip the ball beyond the young Serbian keeper. Cheberyachko made it 4-0 in the 38th minute to complete the scoring inside the first half.

V. Gomes was the only player to run out for the second half with Vidi fielding a new side. The Ukrainians changed only their keeper. Vidi started well with Kovacs having the chance to score a consolation goal after 47 minutes. He ended up finding the crossbar from 16 meters out. Vidi also had two dangerous corners in the second period. The red and blues also had more possession than they did in the first half, but Dnyipro also had their own chances, although there were no goals in the second period.

The Ukrainian side totally deserved their 4-0 win against Vidi. The final friendly match takes place against Romanian club FC Otelul Galati on Tuesday afternoon.
