INTERVIEW

‘Fortunately, I'm back to 100 per cent now’

Following his injury at the start of the season, we spoke to Krisztián Kovács – who made his return in the friendly against Újpest – about his rehabilitation, his comeback and his preparations for the league match against Szentlőrinc.

"After a good pre-season, I got injured right at the start of the season in my very first competitive match – you could say at the worst possible time, though it’s true, of course, that an injury never comes at a good time. Two and a half months have passed since then; I’ve tried to stay positive about the situation, and I think my rehabilitation has gone well. I’m delighted that I was able to take to the pitch again after such a long time in the friendly against Újpest. I’d already been training with the team for about three weeks before that, but I’m glad I was finally able to play for 60 minutes against a strong opponent. It was a useful match; both our performance and the result are things we can draw strength from. This international break was longer than usual, so we’ve had plenty of time to prepare for the league match against Szentlőrinc, which will be a very important game; we’re definitely aiming to pick up three points at home. We’ve analysed Szentlőrinc; I expect them to be a tricky opponent, but we’re looking forward to the match. Fortunately, I’m back to 100 per cent fitness, and I’m confident that, following the friendly, I’ll get the chance to play in competitive matches over the coming weeks,” said Krisztián Kovács, who is returning from injury, in a statement to our website.
