Videoton recorded a 4-0 Hungarian cup win away at Dabas on Tuesday afternoon.
Vidi were in Hungarian cup action on Tuesday with a visit to third division FC Dabas for a place in the last 32. Marko Nikolic fielded a strong side with Roland Juhasz sitting the game out.
The first chance arrived after 5 minutes when Fiola's header went wide of the home goal. The next chance came on 21 minutes with the Fehervar side coming very close to scoring after a Dabas defender made an error when trying to pass to his team mate. Scepovic shot at goal but Scheilinger was well placed. The opening goal came a minute later when a Tamas cross was met by Lazovic, who played Scepovic through and the forward confidently found the back of the net (0-1).
Scepovic then shot over minutes later from 16 meters but the home side also had their first chance on 36 minutes. Fitos lifted the ball to Eros, but his shot from close range was saved by Horvath. The goal of the game came after 38 minutes when a strong pass was played with a lovely deft touch by Lazovic to Szabo. The home defender could not reach the ball as the young winger sent a lovely left foot shot into the top corner (0-2). Things got even better shortly after with another goal. Lazovic played the ball across, which was not dealt with and the ball eventually ended up with Tamas, who sent a strong low shot into the back of the Dabas net (0-3).
Vidi went into the second half with a good lead as Marko Nikolic made two changes at the break. Patkai and Scepovic were replaced by Bence Toth and Bendeguz Bolla. Makrai went close to scoring in the 48th minute, but Videoton keeper Horvath palmed the shot away.
There were several moves along the wings in the minutes that followed, which involved crosses from both Bolla and Lazovic. Suljic came on after 65 minutes with Vidi playing the following eleven at that point: Horváth T. - Nego, Mocsi, Tóth B., Tamás - Bolla, Szolnoki, Suljic - Lazovics - Géresi.
The final minutes saw a chance by Szabo and two from Bolla on the home goal. Extra time included the fourth and final goal after Lazovic was brought down by the keeper. He allowed young Szabo to take the spot kick and that was confidently struck home to round up a good 4-0 away cup win.
Vidi are into the final 32 and are next in action on Saturday when they travel to Ujpest.
