We beat Mezőkövesd with a Kodro double!

Kenan Kodro scored two goals as we kept the three points in a hard fought match at MOL Arena Sósto.

In the 8th round of the OTP Bank Liga, Mezőkövesd Zsóry FC came to the MOL Arena Sóstó on Saturday evening. Their manager Attila Supka was sacked on Monday, and former national team fullback Gábor Híres was the acting head coach. Vidi manager Michael Boris sent out a starting line-up of Kovács D. - Serafimov, Larsen, Stopira - Nego, Pokorny, Pinto, Hangya - Kastrati, Dárdai - Kodro this week.

The first shot came from Besirovic, then Kastrati scored in the 10th minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside. In the 25th minute, however, we scored a valid goal after our Kosovo winger made a great run down the right and Kodro headed the ball into the net from his good cross in (1-0). Nine minutes after the goal, the visitors tried to reply with Karnitski's header, but Kovács did not have to save the ball as it went over the goal. Gergő Nagy tried to equalise before the break, but Stopira made a great save and Gergő Bogár blew for the end of the first half with Vidi enjoying a one-goal lead.

At the break, the Kállai brothers replaced each other - Zalán came on for Kevin, Michael Boris did not make any changes. Soon after the restart, Piscitelli saved from Kodro's effort, and in the 49th minute, after a midfield clearance, Besirovic's cross was cleared by Drazic and he slotted the ball into the net (1-1). Three minutes later Kodro scored another goal, but just like Kastrati's goal in the 10th minute, it was also disallowed for offside by Gergő Bogár, and in the 55th minute Tamás Cseri's shot from the other side of the goal as it flew past the right post.

In the 61st minute Bohdan Lednev replaced Peter Pokorny while after 70 minutes Szilveszter Hangya was replaced by Budu Zivzivadze, who of course came forward instead of on the left. Three minutes after the substitution, Dárdai found himself in a great position, but his 14-metre shot was saved really well by Piscitelli.

In the 81st minute we took the lead again! Dárdai centred very well into the middle and Kenan Kodro again came up with a great finish to score his second header on Saturday night (2-1)! In the 88th minute, Kenan Kodro and Dárdai Palkó were replaced by Jevhen Makarenko and Marcel Heister. At the end of the game Budu Zivzivadze was in a great position, several players were waiting for the ball in the middle, but our striker chose to shoot and missed the goal, but we still beat the well-fought visitors!
