Danko Lazovic was in hot form with his two goals and two assists in the 4-0 win over Mezokovesd.
Mezokovesd were the visitors to the Pancho Arena in match 15 of the OTP league season. Marko Nikolic had to do without suspended duo Suljic and Hadzic for the game. Director of Football Zoltan Kovacs handed Attila Fiola a shirt to celebrate his 200th league appearance, which came in the recent win over PAFC.
The game started really well for the red and blues following a lovely goal from Lazovic in the 7th minute. The forward was brought down on the edge of the box and he picked himself up to send a right footed free kick in to the top right hand corner (1-0).
A nice move after 16 minutes ended with fine link up play between Fiola-Lazovic and Henty, with the Nigerian forward being played in to roll the ball past Tujvel in the visiting goal. The assistant referee did not raise his flag, even though the referee had blown his whistle and had originally given a free kick against Vidi. However, he spoke to this assistants and the goal was given (2-0).
A 22nd minute Lazar cross was flicked on by Novak towards the far post, which required Kovacsik to get down and pull off a good save. Another good link move on 30 minutes involved Patkai-Lazovic-Henty, ended with Henty being released down the wing and he found Scepovic, who fired over from close range. Lazovic received the ball a couple of minutes later in front of the visiting goal. He saw Tujvel slightly off his line and tried to lob the keeper, but the ball went just over the bar.
The game was made safe after 36 minutes when Fiola brought Lazovic into play down the right, and the Serbian forward looked up and played a lovely ball into Scepovic, who gave Tujvel no chance from close range to make the score 3-0.
Vidi comfortably defended their lead in the second half and there was a lengthy period without a chance being created at either end. A wonderful move from Vidi on 66 minutes saw Patkai attractively scissor kick the ball forward inside his half. The ball fell to substitute Geresi, who ran towards goal before playing the ball out to Scepovic, who found Lazovic with a low cross, and the forward made no mistake as he found the top left corner (4-0).
Substitute Bence Szabo curled a corner in after 85 minutes, which Stopira headed at goal from 6 meters, but keeper Tujvel tipped the ball away from under his bar. Nego could have scored a goal moments later, but his shot went over after he slid in to connect with the ball. There was still time for a Tujvel save from Szabo on 90 minutes. The referee blew for full time and Vidi comfortably won 4-0.
Although Ferencvaros won their home league game against Debrecen, a better goal difference returned Vidi back to the top of the league table. An international break follows with a friendly against Slaven Belupo next week. Then a trip to Debrecen follows in the OTP league on the 18th November.
