Vidi play their fourth pre-season friendly of the summer on Tuesday evening

NK Nafta Lendava will be the opponents for the game that will kick off at 18:00pm.

On Tuesday at 18.00 we will be guests of NK Nafta Lendava at the Sport Park in Lendava. The match will be played behind closed doors so supporters should not make the journey.

History:

NK Nafta Lendava were founded in 1903, as the then oldest Slovenian football club in Alsólendva, which still belonged to Hungary at that time. Following the Second World War, the team spent the 1946-47 season in the Yugoslav first league. In the early 1990s, Nafta were members of the first league in Slovenia, and from 1994 to 2003 they played their football in the second division. After that, they were members of the 3rd League for a year, and then in 2002 they were promoted to the first league again. The club was wound up in 2012 due to financial difficulties and then re-established in 2014. The team re-started their modern series in the 4th league, in 2017 they won the 3rd league. Today, they are ranked among the top three teams in the 2nd division of the Slovenian Championship. NK Nafta Lendava finished 4th in the 16-team championship last season. Out of 20 matches, 11 were won, 4 drawm and there were 5 defeats. In the Slovenian Cup, the team marched all the way to the final, but suffered a 2-0 defeat to NS Mura.

Stadium:

The team's home matches are played at the Sport Park in Lendava. The stadium was renovated in 2006 and is currently suitable for European matches. It can accommodate 3,000 people.

Manager:

NK Nafta Lendava's head coach since 2019 is 47-year-old Slovenian Dejan Doncic. Prior to his appointment, he worked for the first division side Triglav as head coach. Based on his philosophy, it is important for him to train and integrate young players into his current teams as effectively as possible.
