Vidi pick up a point at KTE to end the Autumn in top place

Vidi created several chances at the home of KTE, but they could not score. The 37 points picked up from 14 league games means that Videoton will kick off the spring season in top place.

Videoton travelled to Kecskemet in the 14th weekend of the league season. Balazs Beko's side had only suffered one defeat in their previous eight games, so things were never going to be easy.

Alvarez passed to Szolnoki on 3 minutes, who hit a left foot shot from 17 meters out, which went wide of the post. Vidi had more of the ball in the early exchanges, but Kecskemet looked dangerous on the counter. A Gyurcso free kick after 10 minutes deflected off the defensive wall, with a defender blocking the wingers volley.

Gyurcso remained in the thick of the action a minute later, when he received the ball from Nikolics, with Tujvel saving low at the near post. Chakla did well several times as he coped with Bebeto. The first chance for the home side arrived on 28 minutes. Bebeto's low cross in to the middle saw Balazs just fail to connect with the ball. A Gyurcso corner after 29 minutes saw the ball land at the feet of Alvarez, whose left foot shot went just over the right post. Karan headed a cross over the bar on 38 minutes for KTE, while a Simon shot was blocked 2 minutes later. Kovacs showed good skill among the home defenders just before half time, before passing to Juhasz, whose close range shot was blocked.

Neither side made a change at the break. Vidi created several chances in the early minutes of the second half. Alvarez was just short of a Nikolics ball, before both Kovacs and Nikolics linked up really well, with the latter ending up with a chance, but he could not connect well with the ball.  Balazs had a shot on goal from 12 meters after a high ball in from Laczko, which Calatayud saved.

Chakla flicked on a Gyurcso corner, which Juhasz connected with, but Tujvel came out of his goal to collect. Juhasz then headed in to the middle from the far post, which saw Tujvel just emerge ahead with the ball with Nikolics lurking close by. Vidi hit KTE on the counter attack following a 70th minute Savic corner. Juhasz hit a long ball towards the right, which Stopira volleyed with a first time effort, which a defender managed to block.

Patvaros collided with Simon after 74 minutes, which saw the home player get a yellow. He then kicked Kleinheisler and received a red card. Kleinheisler had a shot that deflected off a defender after 79 minutes, while Trebotic blasted just wide from 24 meters. The home side camped in their own half towards the end, with a Kleinheisler shot and header proving dangerous. Juhasz took a free kick as he tried to level, but it went over. Stoppage time saw Trebotic hit the post following a cross from the left by Stopira, while Gyagya cleared off the line.

The match did not provide any goals with Vidi taking a point back from the Szektoi stadium. This means that the team are the autumn champions with 37 points from 14 matches, which is the best autumn season in the history of the club. There will be a break in the league season next weekend due to the qualifier with Finland on the 14th November. A friendly game with Russia follows four days later on the 18th November. There are 5 Vidi players in the national squad. The League cup will continue on Tuesday with a visit to Vasas.
