Vidi have played 6 first division games at the home of Kecskemet, winning four of those.
Saturday's opponents were formed in 1911 under the name of Kecskeméti Testedző Egyesület. The club and the football section could not make it further than second division football for over 100 years. This all changed in season 2007-2008, when they became the first Kecskemet side to win the second divison, eastern section. They have kept their place in the top flight ever since.
The two clubs have played each other 12 times in the first division. Vidi have won 7 of them and have lost 4, with just one match ending in a draw. The goal difference is 27-17 in favour of Videoton. If we look at the matches played away in Kecskemet, then the record is even more impressive, with four wins from 6 league games. Vidi have scored 19 and conceded 11 at the Szekto stadium.
The first league match:
That came in season 2008-2009, which saw wins both home and away by a 2-1 scoreline for the first division newcomers. Gabor Horvath (below) scored the first goal against KTE in the first division.
Biggest win:
Incredibly, Vidi have recorded high scoring wins against KTE three times, with all three of them coming away from home! Season 2009-2010 saw a memorable match in the season opener with Vidi recording a 6-3 away win. It went on to become the match in which the most goals were scored in an away league match.
One year later the goal taps were opened again at the Szektoi stadium with a 4-2 away win for Vidi supporters to celebrate. An impressive 5-1 away win came in season 2012-13 in a match that saw defender Roland Szolnoki score his first goal in the first division.
Double = win:
Vidi have won four times at the home of Kecskemet in the first division, and all four matches produced a Vidi player that managed to score twice. Akos Elek scored two goals in that 6-3 win, and a year later, Andre Alves scored a double in the 4-2 win. Gyorgy Sandor did the same in a 2-0 win in season 2011-12, while the most recent 5-1 win saw Roland Juhasz find the back of the net two times.
The most important Vidi-KTE game:
That was the determinative year of 1967 in Szekesfehervar football, under the then name of VT Vasas. The club managed promotion to the first division for the first time that season. The brand new Sostoi stadium was also handed over in the same year. Vidi's first match at their present home was a friendly against East German side Rot Weiss Erfurt, which the visitors won 3-2. The first official league match was against Kecskemet at the Sostoi. That game saw Vidi line up as follows: Tímár - Posch, Bognár, Horváth II L., Temesvári, Bobory, Balogh, Kű, Karsai, Bodnár, Ispaics. There was a real party atmosphere inside the stadium with 8000 present to see Bela Karpati's side win 3-0 with goals from Balogh, Ku and Bodnar.
Goalscorers against KTE:
4 goals: Alves, Nikolics
2 goals: Horváth Gábor, Elek Ákos, Polonkai Attila, Sándor György, Juhász Roland
1 goal: Vujovics, Nagy Dániel, Sitku Illés, Lipták Zoltán, Mitrovics, Zé Luis, Paraiba, Szolnoki Roland, Torghelle Sándor
