It's back to OTP league action at the weekend following the international break.
Vidi will be looking to extend their winning run against Honved. The two sides meet in match 6 of the OTP league season at the weekend. Saturday's game will kick off at 17:00pm at the New Hidegkuti stadium.
The red and blacks were involved in the Europa League over the summer. They knocked out Latvian side Zalgirist before meeting Romanian team Craiova. They were so close to going through but it did not happen in the end. The new league season has not brought too much joy so far. Defeats to DVTK (1-2), Paks (1-3) and DVSC (2-3) and a win over Ujpest (3-2) sees them currently in 10th place.
Honved were busy in the transfer window before it closed due to their poor start. Keeper Levkovich suffered a serious injury in their EL match with Craiova. That meant they were forced to find another keeper and Tomas Tujvel ended up moving from Vidi to the capital. Albanian Alijit came in from Dinamo Bucharest while those heading in the other direction included Tibor Heffler and Federico Moretti, who had only been at the club for 38 days.
George Patrick Ikenne-King came in from MTK. Also arriving were MacDonald Niba from Nitra, Tamas Egerszegi from Paks, Barna Kesztyus from Paks, Vladyslav Kulach from Shakhtar Donetsk II, Amadou Moutari came in from Mezokovesd and former top goalscorer and title winning forward Davide Lanzafame arrived from FTC. Departures were Filip Holender to Lugani, Danilo to Muaither SC in Qatar, David Grof to Ferencvaros, Patrik Tischler to Kisvarda and Zsolt Poloskei decided to retire from the game.
Their squad is valued at 9,65 million euros by transfermarkt.de and the most valuable player at 1,5 million euros in Davide Lanzafame. Kulach and Gazdag are both valued at 700,000€.
The new league season is just five matches old but Honved only have one player who has played in all of those matches for the full match. He is captain Djordje Kamber. Eke Uzoma and Ikenne-King have also featured in each of the opening games but not for the full game. Honved have three players with two goals to their names. They are Moutari, N'Gog and Lanzafame.
The Italian forward will not play in the weekend game against Vidi after our opponents official website reported that he had suffered an injury. Also missing will be keeper Levkovich who suffered a serious injury over the summer. Ikenne-King is battling with an achilles injury while N'Gog is also trying to make it for Saturday's game.
Honved replaced former manager Attila Supka in the summer with Italian Giuseppe Sannino. Saturday's opponents do not have any players with Vidi connections in their squad apart from keeper Tujvel.
