A second half goal from Armin Hodzic secured the three points to remain top of the table.
Vidi played their sixth game of the season at the temporary home of Budapest Honved FC. The red and blues have picked up some good wins over the Kispest side in recent seasons. Vidi went into the match having won the last six games against the team from the capital.
Marko Nikolic brought in Istvan Kovacs and Anel Hadzic into his starting line-up. Also in the team at the heart of defence was Visar Musliu. However, both Paulo Vinicius and Attila Fiola missed the game through injury. The visiting supporters packed out the visiting section at the Hidegkuti stadium.
Honved also had players missing with Ikenne-King, Lanzafame, Gazdag, Niba, Mezghrani, N'Gog and keeper Levkovich all out. They did recently bring in former Vidi keeper Tomas Tujvel and he took his place in the home goal.
The match kicked off and the first chance arrived after 11 minutes. Bano-Szabo shot from 18 meters, which Kovacsik brought down from the air to save. Petryak then cut inside three minutes later before shooting from 25 meters, which Tujvel deal comfortably with. Nego and Kovacs linked up well on the left after 17 minutes by beating 3 defenders before Nego tried to play the ball beyond Lovric. However, the tall defender put himself in the way and fouled Nego, picking up a yellow card in the process. The resulting free kick from Huszti was curled at goal from 21 meters but Tujvel denied him.
Chances at either end were few and far between in the minutes that followed. Petryak shot from 23 meters, which went over the bar. Then a corner shortly after ended with a save from the Vidi keeper after the ball fell to Bano-Szabo. Gergo Nagy saw the ball bounce in front of him after 36 minutes, but his low shot curled away from goal.
The two sides went in at the break with the score at 0-0. The same 22 players run out for the second half. Hodzic beat substitute Vadocz before playing in Petryak, but his shot from the left was beaten away by Tujvel. Futacs came on for Hadzic after 61 minutes. Nego then sent a shot into the middle on 64 minutes, which Hodzic met at the far post but he shot over. Three minutes later and Ben-Hatira saw his shot bounce in front of Kovacsik and the keeper went down well to save.
The game then went into a quiet period but the tension grew. Referee Viktor Kassai booked several players in the second period. Kovacs was replaced by Milanov after 82 minutes and it was the Bulgarian who created the chance from the right, which Futacs stepped over for Hodzic to run in and put the ball beyond Tujvel to make it 0-1.
Nikolov came on for goalscorer Hodzic towards the end and the home side struck the post close to the end following a corner. Kukoc was the Honved player to go close while Batik also produced an acrobatic save from Kovacsik right on the final whistle. Vidi picked up the 3 points to remain unbeaten with a 100% record.
