Second half goals from Nikolics and Lencse were enough to secure the win
Pre-season friendly, Sóstói stadium Videoton–Újpest FC 2-1 (0-1) Goalscorers: Nikolics (54. pen), Lencse (86.), Rajczi (22.) | ||
Videoton produced a good second half performance to emerge winners of this pre-season friendly on Wednesday. Manager Gyorgy Mezey used a total of 24 players, fielding virtually two seperate sides in each half. Both sides began this match slowly, with the game played a slow tempo, in cold conditions. Vidi had more of the possession in the first half, and were the better side in the early stages. However, it was Ujpest who opened the scoring with a Rajczi goal after 22 minutes. A lapse of concentration in the home defence allowed the experienced forward, to calmly place the ball beyond keeper Mladen Bozsovics. Videoton tried to get back into the game, but the first half ended with the visitors leading by a single goal.
