Videoton FC produced a brave fight back at ETO park on Wednesday evening. Manager José Gomes made no secret of his tactics as he told his Vidi side to go on the attack and create chances, which would lead to goals. The prize on offer for the eventual winners of this game is a Hungarian cup final against Debrecen, who beat Vasas over two legs. Gomes fielded a strong side on a good pitch at the ETO stadium. In the end it turned out to be a very frustrating evening, with a major injury scare involving striker Nemanja Nikolics, who was driven straight to hospital in an ambulance.

Alvarez corner was met by the head of Juhasz, who saw his header come back off the post four minutes later. The final moments of the first half were mainly focused around Molnar's goal, as Vidi tried to grab the lead and get them back in to the contest.

Vidi continued where they had left off at the end of the first, as the second half started. The home side were happy to play the waiting game and let the clock count down. Then Videoton scored a goal to get right back into the tie. Mitrovics showed great awareness to place a through ball into the path of Kovacs, who kept his composure to score into the far corner of the net. The pace of the game then went up a further gear, but not before an unfortunate incident in the 64th minute. The game was held up for 5 minutes as Nikolics received quick treatment following a collision from behind. The ambulance was called for fast, and the player was taken straight to the local hospital with suspected concussion.

Vidi fought back to level the overall tie when Gyurcso was pulled down in the box. The match official pointed straight at the penalty spot, with Brachi placing a strong shot into the corner of the net. 2-0 to Vidi on the night and 2-2 on aggregate at that point. It also looked at that point that there will only be one winner but football does not always work that way. Defender Roland Juhasz was shown his second yellow card, and Vidi were suddenly down to ten men!

Gomes' side continued to press for the third goal with a dangerous Alvarez corner almost causing problems in the home defence. The smack in the face arrived in the 92nd minute, with Kink escaping down the left and shooting beyond Bozovics to clinch a place in the Hungarian cup final. Referee Szilasi added 5 minutes of injury time, which saw Torghelle head at goal, only to see a brave save from Molnar. Győr held out to go through 3-2 on aggregate, with Vidi left to fight for the best possible finish in the OTP league division one.
