Videoton kicked off the second half of the Monicomp league season on Sunday afternoon. They travelled to Budapest, to face Vasas, and ended up having to settle for a point. In freezing conditions, and on a very bumpy pitch, it was always going to be hard to play good football. A win at the Illovszky stadium would have given Gyorgy Mezey's side a ten points lead at the top of the table, but they will have to make do with a lead of eight points instead.

It was a mixed weekend with Ferencvaros winning their game on Friday, while Debrecen's game fell foul to the weather conditions. Second place Zalaegerszeg picked up a point in their draw with Haladas. Sunday's match was the third consecutive draw for Vidi, following on from the two drawn matches with Paks, in the league cup. The first half was low key, with Vidi dominating in difficult conditions. They were well supported on the terraces with over 500 making the journey down to Budapest. Vasas were playing their first match under new ownership, after being taken over recently. In fairness to the home side, they battled throughout and even played the last half an hour of the match with ten men. There were very few chances throughout the game, and it was a battle in midfield for most of the match.

The second half had fewer highlights than the first, with Vasas defender Arnaut seeing ref for his challenge on Elek. Andics sent the resulting free kick over the bar. Mladen Bozsovics looked assured in goal when called upon, which was very rarely. So Vidi will take a point back with them to Fehervar. They must now concentrate on their second leg game with Haladas, in the Hungarian cup on Tuesday. MTK are the visitors next Saturday at the Sostoi stadium, and they are sure to provide a big challenge.
