Kecskemet came to play football at the Sostoi stadium on Friday evening, and ended up taking a point home with them. Vidi never really got going in the first half, and had to really concentrate to contain thepacey forward pairing of Litsingi and Dosso. Videoton lined up with Sandor Hidvegi at left back, in place of Marko Andjics, while Gyorgi Sandor sat the game out, with a slight knock, with manager Gyorgy Mezey playing both Polonkai and Vasziljevics in the midfield four. The home crowd had come out hoping that Vidi would take another big step towards their first ever league title. They were also boosted by the news that second place Paks had drawn 1-1 away at Győri ETO, which effectively means that they are now out of the running for the top position. The red and blues will now sit back over the weekend hoping that both Kaposvar and Ferencvaros fail to win on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The game came to life when Litsingi reacted quickest to score after the ball had struck the foot of the post and rebounded back out. Vidi's defence would have hoped to have reacted better, but instead found themselves a goal down. Andras Gosztonyi was beginning to cause problems on the right hand side, and it was one of his runs and low crosses that found its way to the Nikolics, who made no mistake from a couple of yards out. There was more excitement in the first 45 minutes, with the impressive Ebala heading home from a cross, and suddenly Vidi found themselves chasing the game once more. However, Kecskemet's lead lasted only five minutes, as Gosztonyi was pulled down in the box, and Andre Alves sent the keeper the wrong way to level the scores in time added on. The second half was a low key affair, and in the end a draw was probably a fair result, even if the visitors tired towards the end, and were hanging on in the last few minutes.
