Videoton played their fourth match of the spring league season on Sunday. It was also the 150th first division appearance for club captain Balazs Toth. The match kicked off at a fast tempo, with the home team looking dangerous on the attack. They also found themselves ahead after 10 minutes, when Luque found space on the left, before shooting low past Bozsovic and into the far corner of the net. The move began following a good ball from Tibor Tisza on the right, which saw the Spaniard keep his composure to make it 1-0.
Vidi came back strongly after the opener, but found keeper Ribanszki in good form in the home goal. The giant keeper managed to save everything that was thrown at him. Diosgyőr then hit Vidi on the counter attack on 22 minutes. The move ended with a clever back heel from Fernando, who put his side 2-0 up. The build up saw good movement from Luque and Rudolf. The Fehervar side were creating chances with Oliveira, Gyurcso and Kovacs all testing the home defence. However, nothing was getting past Ribanszky in goal. The teams went in at half time with the home side leading 2-0.
There were no changes at the break by either manager, with the first chance falling to Diosgyőr. Vidi then took over and began to push back the home side. Once again the giant home keeper was having a great day at the office, managing to frustrate the Vidi attack. José Gomes' side had 15 efforts on goal. The DVTK keeper reacted well to save from a Nikolics header. Kovacs also saw the keeper produce a wonder save from his shot, which he palmed onto the post. The rebound fell to Juhasz, who converted from close range, but his goal was ruled offside.
Vidi came back into the match on 79 minutes. Paraiba got on the end of a long ball, and he managed to create confusion in the home defence, with the loose ball eventually falling to Nikolics, who blasted the ball home from around 8 meters out. Videoton could have levelled on the night when they were awarded a penalty. The referee pointed to the spot after 86 minutes, following a challenge on Paraiba. Nikolics placed his shot to the middle, which connected with the diving foot of Ribanszky. Bozsovics went up for a corner in the final minute of the match but the home side held out and collected the three points.
