Videoton entertained Diosgyőr in the early afternoon kick off at the Sostoi stadium on Saturday. The visitors included former Vidi players Akos Elek and Andras Gosztonyi in their side. Paulo Sousa picked a strong side, in a busy week for Vidi, which includes the first Europa League group stage match away in Belgium on Thursday. A crowd of around 3,000 turned out to support the red and blues, who were looking to rise further up the OTP league table. The pitch was in very good condition with the weather also making it perfect to play a good game of football.

Oliveira then crossed from the right, two minutes later, but a defender made a last minute tackle to steal in ahead of Neto. Tisza then went down the right after 18 minutes and his right footed shot was comfortably saved by Bozsovics. The biggest chance came two minutes later for the home side. Gyurcso's high ball was headed at goal by Neto, with Rybansky showing great movement to do just enough to cope with the effort. Sandor had a powerful header following a corner, but it went over the bar. Diosgyőr began to see more of the ball midway through the first half. They also slowed the game down by passing the ball at the back. It meant that there were fewer chances in the game. Vidi tried to pass the ball, while the visitors kept on hitting the ball long.

The second half began with the game not being so tidy. The 51st minute resulted in Nikolics going down inside the box, but the match official did not see anything wrong with the challenge. Niko then had a good chance a minute later, when he broke on goal, only for Rybansky to get hold of the ball in front of the striker. Sandor then got hold of the ball on the right, before rolling it into the centre, but Nikolics was unable to get there in time to connect. Defender Stopira then shot from close to 30 meters, but his chance went wide. Rybansky did very well to save from Gyucrso, who had represented Hungary during the week in their World cup qualifier. There were two good chances on the hour mark. The first came after a cross from substitute Kovacs, which saw Gyurcso unable to test the DVTK keeper. The second chance came from Brachi, but Gal was well placed and managed to save at the last minute to keep the score at 0-0.

The point lifted Vidi up to second in the table, just behind MTK, who continued their good start to the season, with a 3-0 home win over Eger. Vidi had the better chances in the match, but failed to find the back of the net. They will now turn their attention to the tough Europa league game in Belgium on Thursday.
