With the Slovenian side only drawing 0-0 at the weekend, only Russian's Zenit have a similar 100% record after eight league matches.
There are not too many sides in Europe that can show a similar run at the start of the league campaign since the summer as Vidi. Taking a look at the other championships around Europe, it can be said that this phenomenon is not that common when it comes to making a great start. There are 20 different leagues where there have been at least 6 league matches so far, and there are just two other teams that have put together a winning run over the first few weeks. Zenit in Russia have the same amount, while Slovenian side Dromzale had picked up eight wins from eight, but drew the ninth match of the season at the weekend 0-0, so they can no longer boast that 100% record.
Zenit have conceded 2 more goals after 8 matches than Vidi, but have scored 3 more at the same time, so it is the Russians who have the slightest lead in this stake than what Videoton have so far put together.
It should also be noted at this point that several of the top leagues around Europe only began a few weeks ago. Chelsea in England are top of the league with 4 wins from 4 and a goal difference of 15-6. Italian side Juventus have also won all three of their games so far with a 4-0 goal difference as they sit on 9 points. Barcelona are yet to concede a goal after three rounds of their Spanish league, scoring 6 goals as they have won all their league games so far. In Germany, France, Holland and Belgium, there are no sides that can boast a 100% record in the top division.
With Vidi playing their football in the first division, only one other side back in the second part of the 90's made a better start to a season, with MTK doing just that, so Vidi can place on record the second best ever start to a league season in 45 years.
