The second division league leaders visit the Sostoi stadium

Vasas did not manage to get promoted last year. They are one of the favourites to do so this year.

The Budapest side were relegated from the first division in 2012, and have been playing their football in the second tier since then. They have so far not managed to gain promotion back to the first division. This season has started in great form with Vasas picking up 4 wins, before an unexpected defeat at Kaposvar last weekend, but they still top the league table.

Mohamed Remili is the current top goalscorer in the team, with 8 goals in 5 league games to date. There are other experienced players at the Angyalfold club, with veteran keeper Gabor Nemeth in goal for them, with former MTK defender Istvan Rodenbucher and ex FTC player Tamas Gruz also part of their side. Forward Istvan Ferenczi has plenty of experience both abroad and in Hungarian football. There is also former Vidi winger Daniel Nagy, who was a member of the 2011 championship winning side. Manager Karoly Szanyo was a former player of Ujpest, and also part of the Hungarian Olympic side that participated at the Atlanta games in 1996.

Vasas lost their first group match in the league cup with a 2-1 defeat to Ujpest. They also exited the Hungarian cup at the first round stage with a 4-0 loss to DVTK.
