The aim for Kecskemet is European football

Kecskemet could claim a European spot if they end up fourth

Videoton will be looking to gain revenge on a Kecskemet team that won the autumn match at the Sostoi stadium. They managed to beat Vidi 2-0 on what proved a frustrating afternoon for the boys in red and blue. KTE are currently a point behind fourth place Honved, and they know that finishing in fourth could result in them participating in the Europa league in the summer. That would only be in the event that Győri ETO are not allowed by UEFA to compete in European competition, having been banned for a season. However ETO are currently appealing that decision, which is expected at the end of May.

Kecskemet have done very well over the spring so far. 2012 has seen them pick up five wins and their front two two pairing of the experienced Tokoli and young on-loan Vidi player Laszlo Lencse, have played a big part in that. They have won five of their nine league games as they go into the weekend clash with Vidi. Their most recent success came on Sunday when they beat second placed Győri ETO 2-0 at home. A double strike from Lencse meant that Vidi closed the gap with them to just three points. It was also Győr manager Attila Pinter's first defeat since returning to the bench. It will be a fascinating weekend as a win for Vidi could see them go level on points with Győr, should they lose at home to leaders Debrecen. Vidi then have an equally important home match with ETO to negotiate next week. The bad news is that Kecskemet also need the three points. Honved in fourth, play Kaposvar and failure to win that match, coupled with a home win over Vidi would see them overtake Honved to go into fourth place. That could be enough to compete in the Europa league for the second year running.

Lencse and Tokoli have proved a dangerous combination for defences in the OTP league. The on-loan Vidi forward has found the back of the opposition net nine times, while Tokoli has banged in another five. Lencse sits in third spot in the goalscorers table, just behind Debrecen's Coulibaly and Vidi's own Nikolics. Another interesting factor in Kecskemet's home win over Győr was that Gabor Nemeth did not play in goal. The young Botond Antal took his place between the posts, in what was his first game this season. He also did well to help his side to pick up the three points. He performed equally well, together with Lencse, and he looks likely to keep his place against Vidi.
