Vidi's new signing spoke about his playing career so far, his aims at Videoton and also about Juan Calatayud.
You burst on to the scene during the spring season, what can the Vidi supporters know about you?
I moved to Mezőkövesd, but I was at Újpest before that for nine years. I was not playing for Mezőkövesd from the start, but then I managed to break in to the team and ended up playing in goal for the majority of the matches.
You produced good performances, which helped you to break in to the national squad, following a call-up by the national team manager, but your team was eventually relegated.
It is unfortunate, that they did not manage to stay in the league, but at the same time it was not a bad year for me, and I ended up playing for the majority of games in my first real championship. I tried to produce performances that would confirm that I was capable of playing in the first division, and signing for Videoton proves this.
What feelings did you have as you signed the contract with Videoton?
If a player in Hungary is asked to join Videoton FC, I feel that it is a great feeling and the same applied to me. I am joining a club with real possibilities, and a team that will be fighting to win the league title each year, and also participate on the international stage. They have played a key role in Hungarian football over recent years.
Things will not be so easy for you, as Juan Calatayud is one of the best keepers in the NB1...
Calatayud gave the most balanced performance in the first division and he is a very capable keeper, but I feel that if I was not able to take up the challenge with him, then I would not have moved to the club. I will do everything to get in to the starting line-up, and the head coach will decide who he puts his trust in.
What targets have you set for your era with Vidi?
I have joined a team that is being rebuilt, where there will be changes to the playing squad in the near future, so I also have to get to know the other players. I really hope that we will be battling to win the league title and the cup next season!
