The 35 year old Marco Guida has been officiating matches in the Italian first division for 5 years. He will take charge of his first game involving a Hungarian side on Thursday evening.
Marco Guida was born on the 6th June 1981 in the town of Pompei. He started refereeing at the age of 22, making his way through the leagues and eventually to the first division in 2011. He was the referee in 2014 in a match involving Hungary - Slovakia (0-3) U19 EC qualifying game. He was also in the middle in a friendly game in the summer between England and Portugal, which England won 1-0 against the eventual champions.
