The international defender came through the clubs youth policy and will now stay for a further 2 years.
Videoton FC and Roland Szolnoki have agreed on extending the current contract, which was due to end in the summer. The defender will now stay with Vidi until 2019!
"I am very pleased that the club that I grew up with counts on me for the future. I was naturally delighted to sign the new deal as the club means a lot to me. Videoton FC have for years been one of the best clubs in the country. We are in the battle for the league title each year and also regularly participate in European competition. I consider myself to be fortunate as I have already won a lot with Vidi and the only the Hungarian cup remains to be won. Hopefully we can lift that cup high over our heads at the end of this season. Perhaps not too many know that my contract came to an end in the summer of 2011. It was during the summer pre-season camp that new manager Paulo Sousa, who had just arrived to the club, also chose to take me on the pre-season camp. I was like a trialist back then, but I worked really hard and gave everything I had. My contract was extended a few weeks later and I went on to make my first division debut that season at home to Paks. I went on to play 100 times for the club, which came against Paks! I owe a lot to the club and recently became a father. I hope that one day my son will also play for Vidi" - commented Roland Szolnoki after signing a new deal with the club.
Roland Szolnoki has made 105 first division appearances for Vidi. He has scored one goal and also played in a further 19 games in European competition. Szolnoki also made his international debut in the summer of 2015 in a 4-0 win over Latvia.
