1-0. The goal shocked Paulo Sousa's side, in an eventful opening few minutes to the game. Brachi sent a powerful free kick on six minutes, which the keeper tipped over the bar. Novakovic did well to collect a dangerous looking corner after eight minutes, with Vidi enjoying the share of the corner kicks. Alves almost scored after eighteen minutes after Evandro headed back to the Brazilian who saw his effort blocked.

Bodi had a good free kick after twenty-one minutes cause problems for Tujvel and his defenders. Debrecen looked comfortable on the ball while Videoton continued to find a way past Novakovic and his backline, winning a series of corners. Alves turned his marker well on forty-one minutes and his centre ended up taking a deflection of Korhut, to bring Vidi back on level terms 1-1. Alves was booked for the goal celebrations, while Evandro had a good shot turned round the post by the keeper as the red and blues went in 1-1 at the break.

2-1. The goal came at a terrible time for Paulo Sousa's side, and once again Vidi found themselves trailing early on in the half. Elek played a great ball through to Alves on fifty minutes and the forward saw his shot beat the keeper but also the far post, as Videoton tried to get back in to the match. Brachi needed almost one minute treatment following a challenge but he managed to get up and play on. Andras Gosztonyi was replaced by Daniel Nagy on the right wing, and it was Nagy who sent in a good ball a minute later, which Alves just failed to connect with. Novakovic then saved another Brachi free kick on the hour.

Vidi enjoyed more of the ball but without managing to carve out any real chances. They continued to win corners, ten in all, but Debrecen were able to deal with most of them. Liptak then found his way into referee Kassai's book, together with Vasko and Alves who picked up first half yellow cards. Midfielder Sandor then came off as Vidi went for more fire power up front with the introduction of Nikolics. That resulted in there being two Nikolics' on the pitch at the same time. Vasziljevics came on in midfield in place of Liptak, with Vidi trying to get something from the game. Evandro and Elek both had chances blocked in the final minutes as Debrecen held out to collect all three points. The attention now turns to Wednesday's away match at Siofok, which Vidi will be looking to get something out of.
