Nikolic scored a historic goal at the end of the match, but it was the visitors who took the 3 points.
In the 21st round of the OTP Bank Liga our team hosted Újpest FC at the MOL Arena Sósto. In his first match in charge, Michael Boris went for the starting line-up of Kovácsik - Nego, Fiola, Shabanov, Hangya - Szendrei, Alef, Makarenko - Dárdai, Kodro, Petryak, while Vidi's on-loan player Budu Zivzivadze was on the pitch for the purple and white from the first minute.
In the 5th minute, Dárdai's corner was met by Fiola, but Banai saved well. In the 13th minute, Zivzivadze threatened from Antonov's left-wing cross but couldn't find the net, then four minutes later our loanee sprinted onto a free kick and got onto the ball but Kovácsik came out well from his goal. The game was 27 minutes old, when Antonov's shot was saved by our goalkeeper, and then in the last memorable moment of the half Banai saved Dárdai's free kick but it fell to Kodró, but luckily for the Újpest goalkeeper the ball bounced behind the baseline, ending the first half without a goal.
The second half didn't start well for our team, in the first minute Újpest FC took the lead (0-1). A minute later, Makarenko's shot was saved by Banai. Another half a minute passed, when our goalkeeper Ádám Kovácsik was at work, who saved Beridze's 18 m shot. In the 56th minute, Rúben Pinto came on for Szendrei and two minutes later, Zivzivadze's shot was saved bravely by Kovácsik.
In the 69th minute, Michael Boris made two substitutions, Nikolic and Funsho replacing Dárdai and Petryak. Four minutes later, a dangerous cross from Hangya swept past the strikers and across the face of the goal. A minute later Zivzivaze scored the second goal for Újpest (0-2). In the 83rd minute, Nego found himself in a shooting position at the corner of the penalty area, but he volleyed over the goal. In the 88th minute, Nikolic calmly controlled a deflected shot and fired lowinto the bottom right corner (1-2)! It was Niko's 111th goal in a Vidi shirt, equalling our legendary striker József Szabó. The referee added seven minutes, Alef could have scored in the last minute, but Banai saved the shot and Újpest won 2-1 at the MOL Arena Sóstó.
