Report: Confident win away in Debrecen

Goals from Nikolic, Kodro and Nego gave Vidi a 3-0 win against DVSC in the Nagyerdei Stadion!

In the 30th round of the OTP Bank Liga our team played at the home of DVSC on Saturday evening. In the Nagyerdei Stadion, manager Michael Boris went for the starting line-up of Kovács D. - Rus, Stopira, Shabanov - Nego, Pinto, Makarenko, Dárdai, Heister - Kodro, Nikolic. This time our head coach could not count on Funsho and Attila Fiola due to suspension.

We started well, in the fifth minute Kodro's shot missed the target, but four minutes later Heister's great centre was met by Nikolic and he elegantly slotted the ball into the net from 12 metres (0-1)! In the 11th minute the roles were reversed, but the German left-back's shot was off target and after another two minutes Dárdai's 14-metre effort was saved by Alex Hrabina.

Halfway through the first half, Dárdai again found himself in a shooting position, but his attempt went over, and after more than half an hour, another good cross from Heister was just missed by Kodro, and Nikolic, coming from long range, could not control the ball. In the 34th minute, however, Nego's cross from the right was met by Kodro, and with real quality as the ball rolled between Hrabina's legs and into the net (0-2)! Five minutes later, for perhaps the first time in the match, Dániel Kovács had to intervene when he saved Pávkovics' header, and after a minute of extra time Niko had a goal ruled out by referee István Vad II who then blew for half time.

None of the head coaches made changes at the break. In the first quarter of an hour of the second half, there was a free kick by Dzsudzsák that missed the goal and a 20-metre shot by Bence Sós, the former Vidi player failing to find the net, the latter easily being saved by Kovács. In the 62nd minute, we saw a rare scene: three former Vidi players came on the pitch at the same time: Dzsudzsák, Sós and Babunski were replaced by Tischler, Bévárdi and Bódi for the home side, and five minutes later Michael Boris made a substitution, Nikolic and Rúben Pinto were replaced by Petryak and Zulj.

After the substitutions, the home side had two attempts from distance, Pávkovics and Ferenczi, but neither had to be saved by Kovács. And in the 79th minute, the game was finally decided: Shabanov took a free kick and Nego, who dived behind his defender, headed the ball into the net over Hrabina, to make it (0-3)!

In the 82nd minute, the substitutions of Bese-Nego, Lednev-Dárdai and Heister-Lüftner were applauded by the visiting supporters, while Shabanov scored a clever goal from distance - of course, the goal was disallowed due to the substitutions taking place. In the second half, the goals were no longer in danger, we won 3-0 in Debrecen and the next match will be on Tuesday, 18:30 at the MOL Arena Sósto against Budapest Honvéd.
