The two managers spoke at the post match press conference
Paulo Sousa:
"I am very proud of all of my players. I felt that we managed to gain the respect of our opponents on the pitch. For me the most important thing is to create a side, which only thinks about winning. The supporters saw a Videoton side like that today. I was only satisfied with our performance in the first leg. Today, I was also satisfied with the result itself, even if it is a big disappointment to have gone out of the Champions league. I feel that over the two matches, it is not the better side that has gone through. I have been working with the players for five weeks now, and we need to carry on in this direction. I would like to congratulate Sturm Graz and wish them the best in the competition."
Franco Foda:
"I am not happy at all. Naturally I am pleased that we have gone through, but not with our performance today. I will tell my players tomorrow why I am not satisfied, but now is not the time. We won the first leg 2-0 and scored two goals in the first half of the second leg. I should be satisfied with this, but I cannot be. I did not see anything from my team that I asked of them before the match. I was not happy with several of my players performances. I thought that the introduction at half time of Popkhadze made us better on the left hand side. I was not surprised with the football that Videoton played, as I was clear about the fact that the Hungarian champions are a good side. Many told us that we had already gone through after the first leg in Austria. Today's match proved that football can be a very dangerous game, and you can score goals in seconds, or even concede. I thought that we deserved to go through over the two legs, even if Videoton were better today."
