Paulo Sousa looks back on the hard work done at the Spanish training camp
Videoton FC played a total of 5 friendly games in Marbella. They won 2 and lost 3, finishing in third place in the Impact cup, out of a total of 8 teams. The manager was satisfied with the work carried out in Spain.
"I am very satisfied with my team as the boys worked very hard. We stood our ground against sides that were better than us, playing against teams that are still in the Champions league. We held our own in all of the friendly matches. The playing style that we have been working on over the last 6 months was evident and seemed to work well. We played the matches with discipline, and the players gave their all in training sessions as well. We developed both individually and as a team, and the hard work put it is worth it" - said Paulo Sousa.
"I believe that both the new players and those returning from loan periods quickly bonded in. Naturally we still have things to iron out. The speed at which the players have gelled shows the unity within our squad, and the balance we now enjoy. The new players are still at a slight disadvantage, as they have only been working on this playing style for 3 weeks. They are working very hard in order that they will soon be able to 100% work within this system" - finished Sousa. The squad will head back to Hungary on Wednesday morning.
